By Martin Perry, Stadium Project Manager

It's been a while since I last updated the blog - although many of you have been following progress on the weekly gallery here on seagulls.co.uk and will know that a lot has happened on the stadium front.

The main news has been that the stadium funding is now secured, thanks to Tony Bloom's investment, which is fantastic news for the club and supporters. Tony's investment means we can move forward safe in the knowledge that the construction of the stadium will be completed in the shortest timeframe possible.

Meanwhile, as work is progressing on site, progress has also been made on all the other issues that we face, that were outlined at Hove Town Hall over a year ago. Most of the planning permissions have now all been granted. The stadium changes application, the chalk re-profiling application and the copse car park application have all been granted. We have just one small one left to sort out.

The main legal agreements will be signed in the next few weeks and of course all the funding agreements have now been completed and signed. This means that we are now beginning to look in detail at the operation of the stadium once it is completed.

Fans will have seen that we have already introduced a new ticketing system, which we will be using at the community stadium. We will be testing the new ticket barrier systems at Withdean, prior to moving into the new stadium - and we have begun discussions with the local authority and safety advisory group, working towards the issue of our safety certificate.

Tenders for the Seeda funded highway works, a new junction adjacent to Southern Water and new access into Sussex University, will be issued this month, with a view to work starting by the end of the year.

The manager, players and coaching staff are currently enjoying their summer break, but for those of us working on the stadium project there is no close season. We'll just keep on running until we get the job done...
