Seagulls fans can expect a strong Albion XI to take on Leyton Orient in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on Wednesday, kick-off 7.15pm.

Matt Sparrow is set to start, after returning from a three-match suspension, while Liam Bridcutt is expected to make his Albion debut.

Boss Gus Poyet told seagulls.co.uk, "Matt Sparrow is desperate to play so you can expect to see him, and that is good for the team.

"It's a great opportunity for Liam [Bridcutt] also and he will play part of the game. One, because he is here to play games, and also because Kish [Radostin Kishishev] is suffering from a few niggles, so we want to give him a bit of a rest."

Gordon Greer misses out as he serves the final game of his three-match ban.

The game arrives too early for Peter Brezovan, who is still recovering from a fractured wrist, while Lewis Dunk has begun light training as he recovers from a fractured foot.

Alan Navarro is also continuing his recovery from a knee injury.

Leyton Orient boss Russell Slade will return to Withdean for the first time since he parted company with the Seagulls in November, with a number of familiar faces in his O's squad.

Former Albion scholar Dean Cox will also be returning for the first time since he departure in the summer, along with striker Alex Revell. Both were on the scoresheet on Saturday, and are likely to feature.

Slade has one injury worry; striker Jake Argent is sidelined with a knee injury.
