Fans are invited to support the Brighton & Hove Albion mascot Gully, competing against 21 Football League mascots in the Daffodil Derby at Southwell Racecourse on Tuesday August 3rd.
The Football League mascots will be joined by Marie Curie Cancer Care mascot Daffy the Daffodil for the race, which will be staged to launch a season of fundraising for Marie Curie Cancer Care - the Official Charity Partner of The Football League for the 2010/11 season.
The Daffodil Derby will begin at 7.45pm and form part of the evening's racing schedule, with a number of prizes available, including a day for two with the Red Arrow and a year's subscription to World Soccer magazine. Supporters will be entertained by five-piece band 'Urban Intro' playing live in the grandstand.
There will also be prizes for the mascot who can raise the most money for Marie Curie Cancer Care on the JustGiving website, where every £20 raised will fund an hour's nursing care for terminally ill people.
For information on tickets in exchange for a donation to the charity, please contact David Hamilton, corporate fundraiser for Marie Curie Cancer Care; Email david.hamilton@mariecurie.org.uk or Tel 0207 599 7312.
