Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club is committed to providing long-lasting, sustainable links with schools via our award winning Albion in the Community schools football and health programmes.

This highly successful initiative is a regular fixture with many schools across Sussex. Girls and boys of all abilities benefit from our fun-filled football sessions, with an added healthy message, delivered by our dedicated and experienced community coaches. The sessions are not just about football, they can make a difference to children's motivation, coordination, health and confidence.

Working through schools we can bring the Albion to pupils via the following initiatives:

Taster Coaching Sessions For Schools

For schools who have not experienced the quality of our coaching sessions, we can offer a taster activity session during curriculum time. Not only is this a great opportunity for children to get involved in sport via fun games and physical activity, it also enables teachers to see what we can offer, and to learn new drills which they can utilise in their own PE lessons. The session can be structured to include a talk about healthy living, the importance of healthy food and exercise.

Having experienced the quality of our sessions, it is hoped that the children will be motivated to keep healthy and active, and hopefully sign up for a regular Albion in the Community football course or club.

After School Football Coaching Clubs

Children have the opportunity to take part in football sessions for one hour per week at school during term time. All the sessions are structured, fun, age-related and safe, and they are linked to various curriculum topics. We provide the coaches, equipment and course attendance certificate, plus lots of fun. All schools need to provide is a grass field and a gym/hall area.

Staff/child ratio: One coach to 16-20 children (more coaches available on request).
Cost: varies depending on location and number of weeks of course (five or six)

Games And PE Lessons (PPA Time)

Our coaches can deliver games/PE lessons in school, supporting PPA time. They can deliver a session structured to focus on the children's needs, linked to the National Curriculum and depending on their particular Key Stage level. Time scales are flexible and sessions can be delivered to specific classes in each year group.

Sports Or Inset Full Day Activities

Our coaching staff can offer activities for the whole school during Sports or Inset days, and deliver a full day of fun games and football coaching for children. We provide the children with football related activities throughout usual school hours, which are both educational and exciting.
